Passionist Sister Therese O’Gorman

Therese O'GormanSister Therese O’Gorman was born in Cork, Ireland. As a child she moved to Manchester, England, where she met the Sisters of the Cross and Passion in primary school. In 1962 she entered their novitiate in Bolton, and was professed in 1965. After teacher training at Trinity and All Saints College, Leeds, she taught at St. Michael’s Academy, Irvine, Scotland for two years before being transferred to Botswana in 1973. She served in Botswana for the next thirty-four years, until returning to England in 2009.

During the Botswana years, Sister Therese’s ministry was mainly in education and pastoral work. At present she is engaged in retreat ministry at Ministeracres, a Passionist retreat house in northeast England.
